Experience :   As a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor much of my experience is in NHS  Primary care as a Counsellor in GP Practices, working with many individual clients, adults and older adults.   I was a Cruse Bereavement Volunteer, for five years.   I have worked as a Volunteer Counsellor in a local College of Further Education for a year.

Since 2020, I work only in Private Practice, working with individuals, online, telephone and face to face (when possible due to Covid restrictions).

What do I offer?

I offer weekly counselling sessions, one to one, for individuals by telephone, online or face to face depending on your preference.  I offer short or longer-term therapy.    I work with adults and older adults.

My way of working is Person-Centred which means that I aim to be non-judgmental, empathic, honest and respectful.  I will not offer advice.  In the first session I aim to clearly understand what brings you to counselling and what you hope to get from counselling.

I provide a calm, professional, supportive environment for you to discuss what is concerning you and for us to explore your thoughts and feelings. We will work together at your pace, with the issues you bring.

I firmly believe (as evidenced by research) in the importance of building a trusting therapeutic relationship.   I hope that our work together may enable you to discover possibilities and choices for change.

I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in accordance with the BACP ethical framework (2018).
